Cancellation of Annual Conference, 2020

An emergency meeting of the IBCI Council took place on the evening of Friday, 13th March, following the government's announcement on Thursday, 12th March regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The IBCI Council has taken the decision to cancel our forthcoming conference in Sligo on 25th and 26th March, 2020. We have taken this decision having kept the developing Covid-19 situation under review over recent weeks and in light of the measures announced by the government.
At all times, the health and safety of our delegates, trade representatives, speakers, members, hotel staff and the general public is of paramount importance.
We discussed the possibility of postponing until the autumn, but Council has regretfully decided that this is not feasible as there is a high probability of a major escalation of the pandemic. This would lead to considerable logistical difficulties rendering a postponement impracticable.
Consequently, IBCI will be contacting all delegates in early January, 2021 with details of our next Conference to be held in March, 2021.
Thank you for booking with us in 2020 and we look forward to you re-booking for Conference 2021.
We urge all our members and delegates to follow all public health advice provided as our country seeks to deal with the challenges posed by this unprecedented health crisis.

Conference Director, IBCI
